Every fashion trend is characterized by certain design elements which
makes it unique. The Color Zoom Collection is based on fashion and is
characterized by special elements such as colors, cuts, styling and
textures which showcase its fashion background and underline the
uniqueness of the Color Zoom Collection.
This year it’s all about disruption. Disrupt the conventional. Disrupt
the process. Disrupt to be innovative!
Take this credo for color, cut, styling and texture and create
disrupted innovative styles. Styles that show that you dare to differ and be
unconventional. Disrupt known styles to create brand new and distinctive
Create your own style disruption.
Imagine the visual effect of a spot light, a laser light or ambient light and think of ways to utilize these
elements to achieve new hair color effects. The Color Zoom ’16 Creative Team thought exactly this way and how to
transfer these disruptive light effects into color, creating the Laser Light, Spot Light and Ambient Light Color Effects,
which are achieved with the Light Play Technique.
These three different color effects showcase the color as the disruptive element in creative fashion styles. Also,
the way the color is placed, applied and influenced by light can create an additional color effect. This is why it’s
called Light Play Technique. For a multiple-disruption combine two of the three Light Color Effects in one style.
The Spot Light Color Effect is a softer method of disruption in which the
Vibrant Accents start separate but then fuse together. This color effect
mostly accentuates the interior layering and lengths of a disrupted style.
The disruption is created by two Vibrant Accents and showcases a softer
fusion, melting into the Deep Neutral Background to create expansion.
Comparable with mood lighting you can create a seamless diffusion
between the Deep Neutral Background and the Vibrant Accents use
the Ambient Light Color Effect.
Two or more Vibrant Accents diffuse and melt into each other and into
the Deep Neutral Background to create a soft dimension in shape and
All shapes in the D!SRUPT Collection have interesting silhouettes which
can be accentuated with the Light Play Technique. Our three different
Color Effects support the geometric aspect of the cut, building
excitement and a volume effect. Characteristic for all cuts are
distorted, round shapes which are exaggerated in some areas to
create strong but disruptive geometrics.
External layering is also used to create interesting cut out lines and
internal layering to distort the shape. All these are important elements
of the cut concept.
Create the disrupted styles by using various cutting techniques such as
(Free Hand) Slice Cutting, (Deep) Point Cutting and Carving.
Volume that is weightless, that somehow defies gravity, is one element of
disruption in the D!SRUPT Collection. Similar to the volume that static
electricity creates in hair, the texture is without definable form or mass.
Volume is used to expand the cuts and shapes, but disrupt them
in the same time. Color effects can be amplified by a shiny surface
combined in parallel with odd matte textures, creating expansion that
diffuses the color.
To disrupt the rounded shapes use soft interior texture and odd
combinations of multi textures.

Karolyn's Laser Light Color Effect underlines the strong shape around
her face. Her copper-enriched, Deep Neutral Chestnut is disrupted by a
Disruptive Blue which is seen in the hair like a laser.
The flash of Pink and Yellow overlays the Spot Light Color Effect in this
beautifully crafted color play. The Disruptive Vibrant Accents contrast with
the harmony of the Deep Neutral Background.
The disrupted fringe created with an overlayer.
This short edgy cut has a strong carved-out fringe with a
Laser Light Effect, disrupted by a disconnected layer that creates a
free-moving softness of shape. This cut has graduation to create a round
shape and a soft interior texture to give it movement and velocity.
Achieve this strong fringe with the Carving Technique. Cut interior
layers into the sides and the back by leaving the top longer.
Use (Deep) Point Cutting to disrupt the layers for a raw feel.
Create texture through the long top with (Free Hand) Slice Cutting.
Raw and edgy with interior texture.
Karolyn’s style is a disrupted round shape with a soft interior texture
and an undone touch. This shape also has a genderless feel.
Apply StyleSign Flat Marvel and blow-dry the hair.
Use tongs to create more movement on top. To achieve this raw and
edgy style use your fingers, back-pushing the longer sections and finish
the look with StyleSign Unlimitor.
Sami’s Ambient Light Color Effect creates a seamless disruption
between her Deep Neutral Pearl Background and her Vibrant Accents.
The light background with a slight cool overcast allows all the
Vibrant Accents to pop out.
The expanded composition of luminous Yellow, vibrant Pink and a touch
of Green, fused into a fiery Orange-Red, melt into each other creating an
innovative dimmed light effect with a soft mood.

A modern style with a cut-out.
A classic below-the-shoulder length cut with interior layering and a
cut-out asymmetric fringe for a sexy modern style. The interior layers of
Sami’s cut add velocity and allow the hair to move freely.
Deep point cut the outline to give a soft edge. Create disruption with the
Carving Technique by cutting a rounded cut-out fringe over one eye.
The Ambient Light Color Effect really diffuses into the hair, creating
texture and movement within the cut.
Odd marriage of multiple surfaces.
The expanded texture is inspired by the odd marriage of multiple
surfaces. Add weightless volume by spraying StyleSign Double Boost
onto the roots. For the round edgy bob shape, blow-dry the hair at
the front away from her face.
Finish by brushing out the ends and disrupt the style with your
fingers to back comb sections. Use StyleSign Fullrebel to give a
matte finish to the ends.
Jordan’s Spot Light Color Effect showcases the geometric elements of
the cut and gives the interior texture of her bob shape a strong contrast.
The stability of the Deep Neutral Background of Sienna with a touch of
red is disrupted by the Vibrant Accents of Pink and Yellow to create a new
wave of Spot Light Color Effect on the layers.
Interior layers for more movement.
Disrupt a classic geometric bob with interior layers. Create a sexy round
shape with an interesting silhouette. Disrupt the front with a strong
graphic cut-out fringe. Disconnect a rounded section on top and
graduate the nape of the head by using diagonal sections.
Cut concave layers into the sides and underneath the back, dropping
the disconnection using Deep Slice Cutting to soften the outline.
Use the Carving Technique to create the cut-outs at the front,
creating a strong, round graphic shape exposing one eye.
Volume is sexy.Inspired by expanded texture, the colors create tension by disrupting therounded silhouette. Apply Kerasilk Protective Blow-Dry Spray andblow-dry the hair. To achieve this style, back-comb sections of hair at thefront. Using tongs set the hair into a round shape and brush out sectionsto reveal a frizz that adds multiple-dimensional texture.Complete this look with StyleSign Big Finish to create a sexy voluminousshape with expanded texture, showing the tones of Disruptive VibrantAccents Pink and Yellow. Use your fingers to pull the hair back to disruptthe texture, volume and composition.
Taking inspiration from fashion trends, our creative Color Zoom Team
pushed them to the next level. Together they created a new Hair Fashion
Collection that challenges expectations and adds a truly disruptive
twist to hair and fashion.
To create the looks for this trend the team disrupted the shape,
the color and the texture of hair. The disruption of these three elements
expanded the scope for unexpected creativity and gave our stylists the
freedom to create unique looks with reinvented shapes,
new coloring techniques and larger-than-life textures.
