Explore the Optical Pop Effect –
bright colors with a Pop art influence.
It’s a mash-up of the past, the present and the future. The team used
color elements from different decades and remixed them:
color blocks, dip-dyes, lighter roots, fading and gradation of color.
The result is an uplifting, energetic look.
The “bunny fur effect” adds an optional quirk – lighter roots in tones
of Offbeat White with a pop of color.
The cuts are all reinvented classics – familiar shapes
that have been reworked and remixed.
The shapes are bold and graphic, outlined with
sharp contours. The Color Zoom Creative Team created

Eva’s deep, enriched blues are spiced up with lighter tones to create
refreshing contrasts. Meteor Blue is mysterious and contemplative,
Illusion Blue is more playful, while Sky Azure has summer vibes and
is extremely uplifting. An eye-catching halo of Chambray Blue
emphasizes this story’s bold and vibrant focus. Offbeat White with a
soft blue hue at the roots creates a high contrast and beautifully
showcases the quirk on the crown.
The inspiration of Eva’s haircut comes from the halo haircut of the
1960s and is mixed with some punk elements from the ‘70s.
The look’s characteristic is the convex outline that starts at the fringe
and moves softly and longer towards the back, in combination with
the convex-round gradation achieved by Blunt Cutting. To add
modernity to the look, create a quirky element at the crown area by
Twisted Scissor Cutting. Use Point Cutting to finalize the cut.
THE SLEEK BOWL
Eva’s style is a bold statement with a 1970s feel. Apply StyleSign
Soft Volumizer. Blow-dry the hair with a medium round brush.
Smooth out the roots and mid-lengths with a hot iron.
Apply StyleSign Twist Around and use a curling tong to bevel the
ends under. For a more exaggerated styling, use a crimping iron to
create bulk and volume underneath where needed. Leave the roots from the temple up, untouched, staying flat against the head. Apply StyleSign Dry Boost and tousle the hair in the desired direction. Emphasize the stylish quirk with StyleSign Dust Up.
Tough, clean colors take their cue from military-inspired fashion for Gwen’s
color statement. Ivy Green mixed with Avocado and a flash of
Energy Yellow create a powerful story that feels like new urban
camouflage. The lighter roots with Punchy Lime elevate this color harmony
to the next level and create a vibrant, motivating effect.
Gwen’s reinvented shape is influenced by the iconic 1960s Bob.
The characteristics of this haircut are compact outlines at the fringe
and side areas in combination with a hidden undercut at the back
created by Blunt Cutting. The fringe is cut bluntly for a compact
base length. The side sections are disconnected at the back and fringe
without any gradation. The disconnected top section is cut by
Deep Point Cutting. The stylish detail at the crown gives
the classic bob a new feeling for a strong but playful attitude.
THE BOX BOB REDUX
Gwen’s styling showcases this variety of amazing citrus greens and
yellow colors in the hair. Apply StyleSign Smooth Control and
blow-dry the hair section by section using a small paddle brush.
Work with a flat iron to bevel the ends under and to create a round shape.
Finish with StyleSign Naturally Full. To spice up the look, use a mini
crimper on the roots and mid-lenghts from the temples down and bulk
volume. Keep the crown flat. Apply StyleSign Unlimitor to boost volume.
Klaudia’s look is an unexpected return to simplified colors. The primary
and secondary colors stand for strength and confidence. Color blocks
of Ivy Green and Illusion Blue start from underneath, where graphic
colors are harmoniously set side-by-side. Energy Yellow adds vibrancy,
contrasting with the soft Offbeat White tone of her background color.
This creates a pop-meets-punk feel.
Klaudia’s strong, geometric shape perfectly mirrors the 1980s and is
influenced by the ’70s iconic Firefly haircut. Blunt Cutting is used
to create the shape and the sharp contours. Cut the hair shorter,
starting on the left side and longer towards the back. Achieve a strong
asymmetry by over-directing, beginning at the left side to the right side.
Disconnect the nape from the side. Work with an even gradation to
combine round and square shapes. Use Twisted Scissors Cutting to create
the punk quirk at the crown. Personalize the cut with Deep Point Cutting.
THE POP ART FIREFLY
1980s colors, bold outlines and an asymmetric fringe are the key
elements of Klaudia’s look. Apply StyleSign Flat Marvel and blow-dry
the hair smoothly into shape with a vent brush. Bevel the ends using a
flat iron. Emphasize the little quirk by finishing with StyleSign Dust Up.
To create the exaggerated asymmetric shape, use a mini crimper at the
roots on both sides. Use the flat iron to define the shape. Finish with
StyleSign Magic Finish and StyleSign Dust Up to play with the little
quirk on the crown.
BRIGHT & BOLD
Intense contrasts emerge from the duality of Psychedelic Pink and
Mystic Violet. The blocks of intense and vivid colors create a bold,
electric style in Natiele’s fresh color combination. The gradation of
tones enhances the shape and becomes unexpectedly refined in this
combination. These energizing colors convey a sophisticated feel
and make a statement.
Natiele’s style is an interpretation of an 1980s Flattop.
The key elements of this haircut are the strong square shape of the
flattop in combination with the asymmetrical shape on the top of
the head. Determine the length at the sides and cut a square shape.
Connect your section on top with your side and nape sections
following the asymmetrical idea. Work with scissor over comb to cut
the specific asymmetric shape on the top of the head. After blow-drying,
refine the shape by using the clippers or the scissor over comb
THE ASYMMETRIC FLATTOP
Natiele’s style is inspired by the new wave and early hip hop style
of the ’80s – bold with a geometric shape. Create a parting as desired
and brush the hair through with an afro comb.
Apply StyleSign Big Finish, use a net to mould a shape and diffuse dry.
Use a sheet of cut cardboard to create a sharper version of look one.
Pick out the hair once again with an afro comb, mould and hold the
shape using the cut cardboard. Apply StyleSign Sprayer and diffuse
dry to seal and set.
It’s an emotional play of Energy Yellow and Punchy Lime. The zesty
tone of Punchy Lime emphasizes the power of Maja’s color statement.
Energetic lime tones add freshness to the Offbeat White with a soft
hue of yellow to create an uplifting, happy mood. The dip-dye with
Punchy Lime and Avocado highlights the compact shape and in
combination with the lighter roots at the crown, the stylish quirk pops
out even more.
PUNK, QUIRKY BOB
Maja’s reinvented classic shape in combination with the fun quirky
element at the crown creates this modern variation of a long bob.
The characteristics of this haircut are compact outlines at the fringe and
side areas done by Blunt Cutting. The highlights in this haircut are
the layered back and fringe sections in combination with the unlayered
and disconnected side areas. Use Point Cutting to perfectly marry
the color and cut together.
THE SLEEK CITRUS BOB
Maja’s styling showcases the pop-meets-punk feeling.
Apply StyleSign Glamour Whip onto damp hair. Blow-dry the hair
with a round brush section by section shaping a classic round shape.
Finish the look by using a flat iron. Emphasize the punk quirk with
StyleSign Dust Up. To create a pumped-up version of the look,
crimp the roots on the mid-lengths from temple to nape and bulk
volume. Leave some crimped sections apparent and finish with
StyleSign Dry Boost.
Leksi’s color is amped up with energy, looking almost synthetic. Bold,
vivacious bright colors excite the senses. The clashing color blocks
of Atomic Red and Psychedelic Pink reflect light, which creates
immersive effects in her color play. The contrast with soft white adds an
unexpected twist to the color story. The result is truly polarizing and
energetic. The color effect underlines the sharp contours and creates
a powerful, rebellious statement.
Leksi’s haircut is a reinvention of a 1970s Shag haircut with influences
from the 1980s. The disconnected, non-layered sides and the back
feature a compact and bold shape. At the fringe, a square gradation
is achieved by elevating all the hair straight up. The contour around
the face is curved and connected to the sides. The lengths at the sides,
the back and the short, layered crown area are cut bluntly.
Use Slice Cutting to create a slight connection from top to side and back.
Create a stylish quirk at the top of the head with Twisted Scissor Cutting.
THE MINIMALIST SHAG
Leksi’s look is inspired by the vibes of the 1970s. Apply StyleSign
Smooth Control and blow-dry the hair with a paddle brush;
use a flat iron to perfectly shape the hair. Apply StyleSign Dust Up
onto the crown area and finish with StyleSign Diamond Gloss.
For a more editorial look, flatten the volume from crown to ears.
Using a net to squash the roots flat, spray a hairspray and diffuse dry.
Slightly back brush the ends and clamp with a flat iron.
Let the hair cool down, then brush out for a textured volume.
Work with StyleSign Dry Boost to style the look.
